Navigating the Site
To return to the Home Page from any page on this site, click on the Scriver's OMMBID logo in the upper left corner.
Content can via the hyperlinked table of contents beginning with the home page. Once at the part and/or chapter of your choice, you will also be able to browse supplemental content via the tree view pane in the left column of the content window. Here, you’ll be able to quickly access page headings, contributors, figures, tables and references.
My OMMBID
My OMMBID Section of the new website allows intuitional users (authenticated by IP address) to create a personalized sub-account. This allows many users at a library or institution to have their own personal settings access their own bookmarks, notes, and saved images. Users can edit their profile and change their sub-account password. For institutional users, creation of sub-accounts is required for this section.
Icons are used to describe content types for the new “My OMMBID” area of the website. Icons denote the following:
My Notes: User can take notes of section. On subsequent login, user can access these notes from My Notes section.
Change Password: User can change account password; user name and current password are needed.
Edit Profile: User can update the user information. However, the user name cannot be changed.
My Saved Images: User can save images from within the content each part and chapter. On subsequent login, user can access these images from My Saved Images section.
Scriver's OMMBID Image Usage Guidelines
Scriver's OMMBID users may display, download, or print out images associated with the site for personal and educational use only. Educational use refers to classroom teaching, lectures, presentations, rounds, and other instructional activities, such as displaying, linking to, downloading, printing and making and distributing multiple copies of said isolated materials in both print and electronic format. Users will only display, distribute, or otherwise make such images from Scriver's OMMBID available to students or other persons attending in-person presentations, lectures, rounds or other similar instructional activities presented or given by User.
Users may not otherwise copy, print, transmit, rent, lend, sell or modify any images from Scriver's OMMBID or modify or remove any proprietary notices contained therein, or create derivative works based on materials therefrom. They also many not disseminate any portion of the applicable Scriver's OMMBID site subscribed to hereunder through electronic means except as outlined above, including mail lists or electronic bulletin boards.

Q: What if I forget my user name and/or password?
A: You can retrieve your login information using our online Password Reminder, if you are the admin contact on the account. Contact the Help Support Desk by e-mail at techsolutions@mhedu.com, telephone: (800) 217-0059 (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, Eastern Time).
We will ask for your name and address and will access your account online. We will then email the user name for your account to the email address supplied upon registration. Since passwords are encrypted, we cannot determine your original password. We will change your password to a generic password, email that to your specified email address, and then you will have the option to change your password.
Q: How do I change information in my personal profile, for example, a new address or telephone number?
A: E-mail the new information to our Customer Service department at OnlineCustomer_Service@mcgraw-hill.com. Please include your username in the e-mail.
Display and Recommended Browsers
Q: Which browser should I use?
A: The interface supports all standards-compliant browsers, It will support all browsers including IE 6.0 +, Mac Safari, Opera 9+, Netscape 7.0+,Firefox 1.1 +. Users of older browsers may find some pages that deviate from the optimized design. However, we have developed the site to retain functionality with these browsers as much as possible, and we will work with subscribers that have not yet upgraded their browsers to resolve any problems they might experience.
Printing
Q: How do I print an article?
A: To print content from the website, click on the “Print Page buttom under the search box in the upper right of the page. You will then be prompted to “print this section” or “print entire chapter.” Either of these options will take you to a version of the article in a new window, formatted for printing on 8.5" x 11" (216 x 279 mm) paper. Illustrations and/or tables are included. However, the exact layout of the larger tables and illustrations depends to some extent on your printer set up; some of them may not print exactly as you see them on the screen. Once your browser has loaded the article, you can print as you normally would any document. When you are done printing, just close the window with the print version to return to the online version of the article.

There is a Contact Us page always accessible in the top right corner of the site. On that page, you will be asked to provide some information about the type of question you have so that we may provide an answer or response in the most efficient way possible. You can comment on an article, suggest a new article, suggest a question for our Q&A section, or ask a subscription question.
Access Control
Scriver's OMMBID offers a full suite of access options for institutions, including:
IP Authentication. Institutional subscribers submit their network IP ranges to McGraw-Hill during subscription setup. These ranges are verified and loaded into the system and all users coming from inside the range are automatically provided seamless access under the institution's account.
Global UN/PW. A global username and password can be used to access the site from all locations under the institution's account.
